Description
Interlochen Center for the Arts, one of America’s most prestigious institutions for arts education, performance and fine arts presentations seeks to hire a Developer that is a 1099 Independent Contractor. Interlochen’s Technology department serves a wide constituency base within and outside of the institution. The software developer will serve many of these different internal customers by designing, implementing, enhancing, and supporting the effective and timely development of new systems and functionality at an enterprise level.
 
The Developer is subject to the satisfactory completion of a three-month probationary period. After the probationary period and depending on the workload of the project, the position could work up to 24 months as a full-time hourly 1099 position. The ideal candidate would reside locally and work in the office with the team as much as possible, but consideration may be given to those within the Great Lakes region.

Major duties and responsibilities include:  
This position will collaborate with a team of developers and business analysts building modern, scalable, mobile first applications that support and enhance the student lifecycle. These applications will be built on or integrated with the following platforms: Force.com, Angular, Java, and the like. The team follows an agile development cycle where possible.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have knowledge, skills or abilities in:
  • Force.com, including Apex and VisualForce. Lightning Experience (Aura) is a plus.
  • Angular Development
  • Java Development
  • Source Control experience (git/svn/etc)
  • Ability to execute focused QA testing
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds due to IT equipment 
However, a proven fascination with technology and a demonstrated passion for constantly learning will be preferred over experience with a limited number of languages and architectures.

Compensation:
A competitive hourly rate. There are no benefits other than compensation with this position. It's strictly a 1099 position.
